Viva La Playlist!

Wow.  Take that Casey Kasem (or actually, Ryan Seacrest)! We got over 100 posts on song recommendations–and I am thrilled. It’s time to delete sparkly-shirted Neil and his forever blue jeans, and bring in the Avery Brothers, more Lady Gaga and plenty of other tunes I can’t wait to download and learn to love. I will make a massive playlist–maybe one that’s PG and one that’s R; some of the recs seem to have, as reader Mary says, lyrics with potty talk–and post it here and on our Facebook page next week.

The random winner is Lisa, who has a regular Friday night gym date with her man (love that idea!). Her nominations were Viva la Vida by Coldplay, Uprising by Muse and, in another comment, she agreed with ultra-runner Susan on hearting Axl’s + his boys Welcome to the Jungle. That song has too many painfully awkward memories of my high school dances for me to download, but I certainly understand the appeal.

Sorry this post was late;  we’re in Austin, and had a fun reading at Book People, then spent today chatting up runners and hawking our RLAM wares at the Zooma half-marathon. Sarah ripped off a 1:47 on a hilly course, and I’m going to run (not race) the 5k tomorrow and enjoy the spirit of the women around me. Great races and a fun crowd, and an amazing setting: wildflowers and butterflies and green, green grass. Will post about it all on Monday.

In the meantime, enjoy the rest of your weekend and if you haven’t already, get out there and RLAM!

Great post, but even greater news, Sarah! That is an awesome time!!!! Way to go! You must be proud of that! Can’t wait to hear how the book-reading went! Sounds like everyone had a great weekend in great weather!
